We spent all our holidays in Pembrokeshire in the Nineteen Fifties, Christmas,Easter and Summer before moving to live and go to school here in the Sixties. There is some quality unique to this county which gets under one's skin and for so many of us moves us to try and Express our feelings in paint. This can be a frustrating experience but brings delight too if you can communicate this to others.

Simon Probyn is a sculptor who works using heavy industrial steel. He creates abstract and figurative works of art from both found and new material. He takes the man-made architectural steel designs and lets them subtly dictate their new purpose.
Simon came late to sculpting, having spent 30 years in unrelated employment. Over the last 6 years however he has been able to focus his full attention on sculpture and has been successful in creating highly original artwork and exhibiting nationwide.

Ro Croxford Rogers
Living on the western edge of Wales, my love of the coastline is central to my work. Observations and experiences within that landscape, a meeting place between land and sea,
provide a source of ideas, which are re-worked in the studio.
Largely abstract, with elements of figuration, the paintings emerge from an intuitive enquiry into the physicality of materials. The process of making - layering, concealing, revealing, eroding - reflects the Earth’s elemental processes; providing the interface with which to translate subtle connections between the outer physical landscape and the inner mindscape.
Based in Goodwick, Ro is showing at Phillipa Sibert’s studio for this event.

Sophie Myfanwy Wellan
In my work i seek to deal with the metaphysical, working instinctively and constantly trying to marry the spiritual and the physical in an attempt to produce work which possesses a deeper truth and a dynamic tension.
My work contains ideas of ritual, power, transformation and the remarkable connection between all things, attempting to retain a sense of personal 'connectedness' through the language of materials and the spiritual nature of substance, which is a strong motivation in my work.
