Mixed Media Artist
Known as the ‘Art Adventuress’ CHOC is a mixed-media artist working in 2D and 3D. She moved to Pembrokeshire from Surrey in 2010 and the big skies and rugged landscapes of this area reignited her love of painting after other creative forays in design, craft and fashion.
CHOC’s signature style is as distinctive as she is: bold, colourful, challenging, larger than life contemporary pieces which draw on a life filled with travel and experiences. She works mainly in acrylics, often incorporating collage and textural mediums. Winning her first national drawing competition aged 8, since moving to Wales CHOC has had a winning entry at The Artist and Leisure Painter Open Art Competition, and more recently won the Picton Castle Landscape Challenge. Yet the artistic journey for her is ever-evolving and fuelled by her vivid imagination, obsession with colour, and desire to experiment.
In her own words, CHOC describes her creative energy as “life with the volume turned up”.
After over 50 years of practice, CHOC now tours Europe in her motorhome, with Sybil and Olive (her two French Bulldogs) and her mobile art studio. Inspired by untamed coastlines, big skies and wild, desolate places, she absorbs the wonders of nature in all its glorious guises.
Capturing moments, living life in flow, with no plan or agenda, her newer work has an exciting new freedom of expression and vibrancy.
